Kate Russell grew up in Australia listening to her dad’s Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves and Slim Dusty records and became inspired by Country Music and Rock... ACDC, Led Zeppelin and Pop. Karen Carpenter and Olivia Newton John were amongst Kate’s strongest influences. Kate says, “I travelled to America to create my own original musical blend”. After completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music at Berklee College of Music, Boston and The University of North Texas respectively, she travelled to Nashville and moved to the center of the action forging new ground by blending musical styles. “I use a compositional hybrid of R&B and Rock and enjoy being musically adventurous.” Kate was fortunate enough to be able to record and interact with some of the greatest Musicians, Producers, Engineers and Business Partners to form strategic alliances that continue to this day Kate relocated to California and now lives and works in the wine country of Temecula. This has brought Kate into the Los Angeles recording scene and the musicians available there have enhanced and melded her multiple influences.
