With musically inclined parents, they quickly realized her passion was more than a hobby and began regularly bringing her to Music City, TN to train with vocal coaches and collaborate with local songwriters. · Eager to move to Nashville and pursue her music education, Carson promptly enrolled at Belmont University, majoring in Music Business, after completing high school. Graduating at the top of her class in 2013, Carson received a degree from the school’s Business and Entrepreneurship programs. · Upon bringing her Texas tenacity to Tennessee, Carson quickly began performing several writers’ rounds at iconic venues such as The Bluebird Café, The Commodore Lounge, Ford Theatre in the Country Music Hall of Fame and The Listening Room. Growing her catalog of lyrically strong songs, she began co-writing with top writers like Rick Giles, Georgia Middleman, Robert Ellis Orrall and Dean Sams. · Slated for a June 17 release, Misty Rae Carson’s debut EP, “Mystery,” is an inspiring and uplifting compilation featuring songs like “More Wishes Than Stars” co-written with Craig Spinney and “Woke Up One Day” with hit-maker Robert Ellis Orrall. · Giving back to the community as a former student at Renee Grant-Williams vocal school, Carson now teaches voice lessons there and for five years has participated in Country Music Hall of Fame’s Words and Music Night, a philanthropic and educational endeavor to help grade school students learn how to write music.
