Denny Strickland - Swerve On
With the debut of his new Country single, “Swerve On,” Denny Strickland is poised to take his exceptional brand of music to Country music fans all over America.
“Swerve On,” released by the SMG Records, is up-beat, hooky, and infectious. It’s the kind of sound that radio-programmers love to add to their playlists, because it grabs your attention instantly and never lets go.
When asked about his unique sound, the native of Jonesboro, Arkansas prefers to leave the categorizing to you. He’s not one to be pigeonholed or placed in a box. “I want to be myself,” says Denny. “My goal is to just get my spot on the playlist with all of the other great Country artists out there. But I definitely want to form my own path.”
Strickland and his band are coming off a showcase performance at the “Northeast Arkansas PRCA Championship Rodeo,” for a huge crowd of enthusiastic fans. This artist loves playing ‘live.’ “We definitely rocked it all-night, and the crowd was into it,” said Strickland. “I’m really excited to get out there with my band and play for lots of new friends.”
Denny will be hitting the road, visiting radio stations across the U.S., and introducing “Swerve On,” to programmers and Country listeners. “I love meeting new people that are as passionate about music as I am, so I’m going to love meeting the programmers,” adds Strickland.
A talented musician and songwriter, Denny is a very skillful guitarist and is also very capable at the piano. He is already thinking about the future and what comes next, so he’s continually developing new music and possible future singles. But he also prefers a little intrigue, and likes the idea of unveiling one song at a time to his expanding fan-base. “After this single travels up the charts and people get familiar with me, then we’ll release the next one. I definitely am on track to go down this road one single at a time.”
Strickland, who now lives in the Nashville area, grew up in Arkansas, listening to all kinds of music, and embracing other loves. He just happens to be pretty adept around horses; in fact he’s an American Quarter Horse champion. Nevertheless, this young artist is all about his career as a Country performer. “I’m just thrilled to be out there making music with a great band,” says Denny. “I’m hungry for it, and really encouraged about what’s yet to come.”
One thing seems pretty certain, that the future is a very bright one indeed for this gifted artist.
