In the year 2023, Dan Tyler is celebrating 60 years as a songwriter, dating that to the first time a local rock band in south Mississippi publicly performed one his compositions. Since that night long ago, Dan has written or co-written several titles that should resonate: “Bobbie Sue” for the Oak Ridge Boys; “Twenty Years Ago” for Kenny Rogers; “Modern Day Romance” for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band; “Somebody’s Doin’ Me Right” for Keith Whitley and “The Light In Your Eyes” for LeAnn Rimes. As a vocalist, Dan has also recorded and self-released several albums and a number of singles – “As Long As The Lord Leads The Way” being the most recent.
