Rod Black is a Canadian country rock singer-songwriter and the former lead singer of hard rock band Jet Black Stare. Since 2014, Black, whose sound is best described as a balancing rendition of artists such as Steve Earle, Bob Seger, Steven Tyler and Chris Stapleton has been following his musical passions in Country Music. For his current project, Black teamed up with a powerhouse lineup, including, Rich Redmond, (Jason Aldean) Jim Cooley, (Parmalee) & Jeff Johnson, (George Canyon, Wes Mack, Small Town Pistols) on "Miles to Go". Rod's also been working with Jimmy Thow, (Sons of Daughters) & Eric Varnell, (Colt Ford, Smithfield). Black wrote with them on his new country rock anthem, "Rock The Country". Former Island/DefJam recording artist, Rod Black grew up on the classics - from Southern Rock Pioneers Lynyrd Skynyrd, to the original outlaws: Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Mr. Johnny Cash. His first radio single, ”Keepin On" hit Top #20 on Canadian Country Billboards and left him with a notch in his belt for his performance at 2015 Merritt’s Rockin' River Fest. Joining a legendary lineup of national acts, including Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Chris Young, Big & Rich and Dallas Smith, to name a few. RB’s performance earned him another big stage appearance at RRF in 2016. RB is currently in the studio - writing and recording songs for the upcoming 2017 EP.
