Malea "Give" (Baggi remix)
In her previous videos for "Running In The Desert" and "Rainbow Girl," Malea used exceptional visuals and graphics to tell her story. When it came time to shoot the newest video for "Give," and its message of hope and harmony, it was only appropriate that Malea not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk. For an artist who has passionately thrown herself into social matters like animal rights and helping the less fortunate, this came naturally. This Los Angeles-based artist has been making a name for herself both musically and cinematically for many years. Her time spent on Broadway and TV sets helped her develop into a confident leading lady, and once she picked up the guitar the results were immediate. Her first offering, True Believer, charted AC and AAA radio. This opened the door for her to support artists like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Rusted Root, and Liz Phair on tour. She then linked up with producer Mark Needham (Chris Isaak, Lindsey Buckingham, The Killers) to produce Prism, her latest, and strongest, effort yet. The Baggi Begovic remix of her single "Give" takes all of the renowned hallmarks of Malea like her songwriting and chops on the acoustic guitar and constructs around it a dancehall anthem that will rattle windows and shake your bones. But regardless of what kind of production is put on the song will always be carried by Malea's powerful yet sensitive vocals. She boldly sings about the power of trying to change the world and how if we work together we can become the difference we want to see. As we mentioned earlier, when it came time to shoot the video Malea naturally jumped at the opportunity to lead by example. The camera quietly follows individuals through the streets of Los Angeles as they approach people who are down on their and possibly even living on the streets. With nothing hoped for in return other than a handshake and a hug, they offer up food, clothing, and money to help these folks get back on their feet. The video is done tastefully and sincerely, and is an honest reminder to all of us that it's the little things that sometime make the biggest changes. We hope this message with resonate with everyone and we can all be inspired to follow Malea's lead!
