The words and music of “Hell’s Highway” written & performed by Dennis Massa, are as unique to Dennis as is his powerful performance in the featured video. The video was directed, produced, and edited by Chris Pati, CEO of indimusic.tv
Dennis’ musical genius has resulted in original contributions to blues, folk, folk rock, country, alternative, spiritual and instrumental music, where Dennis writes, composes, sings and plays all of his own instruments, including guitar, violin, mandolin & cello. His lyrics have incorporated a wide range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences.
Dennis’ early works consist of a vast catalog of his original children’s and circus music, including Wacky Wacky Wabbits, Limber Up for the Limbo and the Circus is Calling Me, which deliver a refreshing sound to children’s music. His # 1 popular selling circus song is "Peanuts Popcorn & Cotton Candy." His circus songs have been used in theatrical performances by children's dance troupes. Many of these early works, as well as his catalog of baseball songs, were co-written with American iconic artist John Tartaglione of Marvel Comics fame. Dennis and John’s musical contributions to the baseball Library at Cooperstown, earned them an honorary lifetime membership in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Dennis’ song "Only Yogi" was used for a TV show featuring Yogi Berra. Dennis also donated a song featured on Baseball CD: Diamond Cuts Compilation, along with Paul Simon, George Winston & others.
In addition to writing songs and composing music, Dennis specializes in the art of violin making and has made, bought, sold and continues to repair violins. A true Renaissance man, in his spare time, Dennis buys and sells art of all kinds. Dennis also creates original Japanese Sumi-e water color art, which have been exhibited at the National Arts Club in New York City.
Dennis has a B.A. degree in Theology from Lipscomb University in Nashville where he also studied ancient languages and psychology.
